Veterinary Clinic FAQs
Why is a spay/neuter clinic vital to the community?
North Carolina has the third-highest shelter euthanasia rate in the country. The acute animal overpopulation crisis in our community shows no sign of slowing down. We continue to see, on a near-daily basis, reports of overcrowding at our county shelters. For various reasons, people are surrendering their cats and dogs in increasing numbers. One reason for this is the limited, if any, access to affordable spay/neuter and basic preventative care for their animals.
What services will you be providing?
We will be providing low cost spay and neuter services as well as basic preventive wellness services, which includes vaccinations and microchipping. We will NOT provide services to help sick animals (skin conditions, gastrointestinal issues, broken bones, etc.).
Can I bring my pet even if it has never been to a vet before?
Absolutely! We will gladly spay or neuter your pet, even if it hasn’t been seen by a veterinarian before. We encourage you to also make a preventative wellness appointment to make sure your pet is vaccinated and microchipped.
What if my pet is sick?
If your pet is sick, please do not bring it to the AnimalKind Clinic. We are only able to provide preventative services. Please contact your veterinarian.
Are there other spay and neuter resources I can access if I don't live in Raleigh?
There are many resources across the state of North Carolina. By visiting NC Spay Neuter Resources under the Resources tab, you will be able to access a map and list of clinics in North Carolina.
Whom can I contact if I have other questions?
